Lemon Balm
Yesterday the lemon balm was in a pot
Today it's taking over a garden bed.
I was stunned when I saw it
and actually, fell right in...
The scent still lingers in my head.
What can I say about lemon balm?
It's a beautiful, fragrant delight -
Just as invasive as it's cousin mint!
But if it feeds my bees, I'll be all right.
Peach Tree
The peach tree hums in Summer's light,
Heavy with gifts - a golden sight.
Fuzzy suns in leafy arms,
Soft with scent and old-world charms.
No need to rush, the fruit will fall,
When time and touch begin to call.
Each blush a story, sweet and slow-
The garden's way of letting go.
Ode to Calendula
In gardens gold and sunbeam bright
She dances soft in morning light
She calms the rash and, she heals the burn
a floral friend at every turn.
She's gentle, sweet - a healer true,
A balm for skin, both old and new.
No drama here, just a tender touch -
Calendula, you do so much.
